Miss Universe 2010, the most awaited prestigious pageant in the world. The Miss Universe 2010 will be held at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas.

People around the world are so excited to see this great event of gorgeous ladies of different countries, who will be showcasing their talents, beauties and brains. So, the question is, who will be the lucky candidate to bring home the crown as Miss Universe 2010.

And the long wait is over, the winner has been announced!

Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete was crowned Miss Universe 2010 during a pageant that aired Monday night on NBC.

Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps was first runner-up in the pageant, hosted by Natalie Morales and Bret Michaels.

Here are the top 5 contestants:

Miss Mexico, Miss Australia, Miss Jamaica, Miss Ukraine and Miss Philippines.

Yes! The dreaded final question! They have 30 seconds to answer. Here are their questions and excerpts from their answers.

Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete: What effect is unsupervised Internet use having on today’s youth? Through an interpreter, she says the Internet is an “indispensable, necessary tool” and we have to make sure kids are using it according to family values.

Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell: What role should the government play in regulating potentially offensive clothing? “One of the greatest things we have is the freedom of choice…I don’t think the government should have any say in what we wear.”

Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps: Is the death penalty acceptable and why? “I believe that life is a gift…I believe that none of us as humans have the right to take a life.”

Miss Ukraine Anna Poslavska: How do you feel about full-body scanners in airports? Through an interpreter, she says, “I think it’s a very important question of security…if that helps us to save the lives of people, then I’m for it.”

Miss Philippines Venus Raj: What is one big mistake you’ve made and what did you do to make it right? She says she hasn’t made any major mistakes, then gives a shout-out to her family. “Thank you so much that I am here.”

OK, that was the worst answer of the bunch.

Judgment time.

Fourth runner-up: Miss Philippines

Third runner-up: Miss Ukraine

Second runner-up: Miss Australia

First runner-up: Miss Jamaica

Winner: Miss Mexico!

Rolando Mendoza Hostage Taking in Manila

The drama started at 10 A.M yesterday in Manila, near Quirino Grandstand, a hostage taking Rolando Mendoza a former police officer, took a tourist bus and held hostage all the tourist inside the bus in its final tour of the city, most of the passengers are Hongkong nationals and some Filipinos, driver, and photographer, a happy and unforgettable tour becomes a nightmare and for some is the end of a journey a terrible journey, The hostage taker Mr.Rolando Mendoza a former police, hostage all the passengers inside the bus, demanding that his case should be reviewed and demanded that he should be reappointed back to his old job. He was fired from his job last year because of an alleged robbery and extortion scandal, we was fired from his job as a policeman.

The hostage taking took at least 12 hours, ending at 9:30 P.M with some of the hostages killed and the Hostage was also killed, headshot, by a possible sniper.

The Hostage taking was a breaking new, I tried to change the channel from ABS-CBN to GMA, all primetime schedules were postponed, the ROLANDO MENDOZA HOSTAGE TAKING IN MANILA is the news, even in CNN and BBC as well as Fox News, and other foreign news network still the breaking news is the Rolando Mendoza Hostage taking, my heart is beating more than the usual heart beat as assault squad is trying to figure out on how to storm the bus, they are having a hard time in, trying to think a strategy on how to subdue the hostage taker without endangering their selves as well as the hostages.

I think the coverage of the media when the Police men took his brother and family triggered him to kill some of the hostages.

This is a very unfortunate event, some of the hostages were killed, this is a very huge blow to the tourism industry in the Philippines.

What do you think? Did they made a mistake? or Is the media also to be blamed to the incident?

What do you thinks are the factors that affected the situation?

Lebron James now in Miami Heat

This news will disappoint some fans, while some will be excited to the new career of Lebron James. I’m sure Cleveland fans will be very disappointed and sad about this new venture of Lebron James.

Here is the news from ESPN Sports

LeBron’s unsavory ‘Decision’ spectacle

By Gene Wojciechowski
ESPN.com

And now I’d like to present … The Column on The Decision, which was announced by The Egotist, who has lost The Respect of The Columnist for jacking around The Cavs, The Bulls, The Knicks, The Nets and The Clippers (yes, even The Clippers) before deciding on The Heat and milking it for every Favre-like minute as he talked about The King in The Third Person.

Please tell me it’s over, or is LeBron James still blabbering away about the agony of free agency?

The writing was on the wall for the Heat, despite the writing on this fan’s sign.

If nothing else, the James Team’s manufactured saga makes you yearn for simpler times, like when Michael Jordan, who actually won things such as championships, announced one of his monumental career decisions in a concise “I’m back” fax.

But no, we got 27 minutes of TV appetizers, followed by eight seconds of LeBron steak (“This fall — man, this is very tough — um, this fall I’m going to take my talents to South Beach and join the Miami Heat”), followed by 33-plus minutes of Worcestershire sauce. The whole thing was semi-ridiculous, although it did reveal a vain, self-absorbed side of James that’s as attractive as braided nose hair.

Anyway, he’s going to Miami to team up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh! Whooee!

Duh. Where else did you think he’d sign once Wade re-upped with Team Riley and Bosh followed? To Cleveland? Sure, because everyone wants to play for a team with little cap space and Mo Williams as your point guard. To the Bulls and a rookie head coach and a sometimes dysfunctional front office? To New York and the countdown to Amare Stoudamire’s next injury? To New Jersey and more questions marks than in this paragraph? To Los Angeles and Donald Sterling and the shadow of the Lakers and Kobe Bryant?

The minute Wade and Bosh chose Miami is the minute The Decision was made. James can (and did) frame it any way he wants; but if winning a championship was his No. 1 priority — and he said weeks and weeks ago that it was — then the Heat made the most sense, followed closely by the Bulls.

Nearly five months ago, I wrote a column outlining how and why a James-Wade-Bosh signing could happen. At the time, the Knicks were the team best positioned to pull off the audacious move. But that was before Heat president (and eventual coach?) Pat Riley started dumping salaries into Biscayne Bay. Then he kept Wade, recruited Bosh and that was that.

These two Cavs fans at the Harry Buffalo in Cleveland had some trouble appreciating LeBron’s seven-year contribution to their city on Thursday night.

I don’t have a problem with James’ choice. Had he selected anyone but the Heat or the Bulls, he would have backtracked on his free agency campaign promise of caring only about wins, not money. By signing with the Heat, he’ll get both — maybe not as much money had he stayed in Cleveland; but in the short and long run, he’ll have a better chance at an NBA title.

What bothers me isn’t so much the contrived nature of the announcement, but that James was such a willing participant, if not the creator, of the spectacle. He is an immensely gifted player — the best in the NBA — but he has won nothing. Zilch. Goose eggs. At least Wade has a championship ring. Whatever James won in high school doesn’t count.

Can you imagine what Kobe was thinking as he watched Thursday evening’s announcement? He must have been seething. He’s probably already counting the months, weeks and days until the Lakers play the Heat during the regular season. Knowing how Bryant uses such things as motivation, he’s almost surely hoping the Heat win the Eastern Conference and face the Lakers in the Finals.

What the heck is this number? 2204355

Its one of the top search in Google Trends.. below is the story…

What is 2204355?

What is meant by these numbers 2204355? It is now the hottest searched keyword in Google search engine. As you can see the picture of top 10 searched keywords of Google, no. 1 is 2204355. They said that this has something to do with a man dancing and holding chicken legs.

So, what is the real score behind this 2204355? People are puzzled about this 2204355.

Here’s an article I got from http://www.salon.com “Behind the 2204355 prank”

On-screen, a young man is dancing to a crude synthesized track that could double as the score for a Super Mario Bros. porno. A rainbow pattern scrolls from left to right behind him. The dancer is holding chicken legs in both hands and ripping into them as he dances, chewing in time to the music and occasionally lunging into the camera and smiling.

Sometime Monday word started to circulate that if you typed 2204355 into Google and hit “I Feel Lucky,” this strange little loop would show up. By midday, the same Google search led to this entry on Time magazine’s “Newsfeed” blog, where writer Megan Gibson declares herself “completely mystified by the meaning behind the video and, sadly, it’s not the first time the Internet has left us baffled (looking at you, Badger Badger viral video).”

Here is a terrible news from an Italian Website

He did not manage to win his most important battle. Pietro Taricone, 35 years old, died last night in the Terni hospital after a 9-hour-operation due to an accident with his parachute. The internal lesions were too severe. Wounds to his head and lower limbs, together with several haemorrhages were too serious.

Surgery started yesterday afternoon at around 3.00 p.m. and finished after midnight. Then Taricone was moved to the intensive care unit, where he died at around 2.30 a.m. because of sudden complications. He had never woken up. Yesterday Taricone was going to jump just like many other times, but something went wrong for former “Big Brother” Italian star. The police opened a new case to investigate the accident. According to some witnesses Taricone’s parachute opened regularly after a jump from 1,500-2,000 metres. Then the wind or a wrong operation caused Taricone to crash to the ground.

Bol died at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, where he was being treated for severe kidney trouble and a painful skin condition, Tom Prichard, executive director of the group Sudan Sunrise, said in an e-mail.

“Sudan and the world have lost a hero and an example for all of us,” Prichard said. “Manute, we’ll miss you. Our prayers and best wishes go out to all his family, and all who mourn his loss.”

Bol played in the NBA with Washington, Golden State, Philadelphia and Miami, averaging 2.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 blocks for his career. He led the league in blocks in 1985-86 with Washington (5.0 per game) and in 1988-89 with Golden State (4.3 a game).
